Hakgala Botanical Garden is the second largest botanical garden in Sri Lanka. Situated near Nuwara Eliya, this Garden was officially made into a garden in the year 1884. There are many flower gardens that a traveler can visit in this botanical garden, and garden flowers are also available to be purchased as well. There are over 10000 different species of flowers, and many nurseries can be found along with beautiful rose flower gardens. this area is also mentioned in folklore and legends. People believe that this is where Sita was kept after she was kidnapped by Ravana in the Indian epic Ramayanaya.
