The botanical garden at Mirijjawila is a relatively new addition to the botanical gardens in Sri Lanka. Spanning for 300 acres, Mirijjawila Botanical Garden was established in 2013. The botanical garden is open all year round for the public and the specialty of this garden is that unlike all the other botanical gardens in Sri Lanka, Mirijjawila Botanical Garden is situated in the dry zone of the island. Even though this is the case, there are many beautiful flower gardens, as well as flower and plant nurseries situated in the garden. The moisture of the land is preserved by three tanks that were constructed in the garden, especially for this purpose.
